NCI Performance Planning Retreat

Performance Planning Retreat

Based on overwhelming member feedback, NCI's traditional NCI Meets member meeting, typically co-located with Comfortech in September, was replaced with an all-new Performance Planning Retreat. The Retreat took place at the beautiful Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, South Carolina, October 25 - 28, 2015

Format and Focus: From Chaos To Consistency

The Performance Planning Retreat format encouraged best practice idea-sharing, collaboration, and execution. Participants were engaged in focused discussions about their company’s product, pricing, lead generation, sales, teamwork, and accountability processes. Our goal was for participants to leave with a specific Performance Action Plan tailored to their company’s needs to help make 2016 the best year ever!

Due to the intimate retreat setting and our desire to be more personally involved with every participant, there was a strict enrollment limit of 35 NCI Member companies. Each company brought a minimum of two participants from ownership or top management, up to a maximum of four participants per company.

Here's how the Retreat worked:

  • We kicked off with a Welcome Reception on Sunday evening
  • The business meeting started first thing Monday morning with an in-depth preview of the process to guide towards a personalized 2016 Performance Plan
  • The group was divided into teams of six to eight people. Each team focused on exploring and forming "Best Practices" assigned to each team in six sessions over two days, drawing from existing NCI practices as well as the "collective wisdom of the team."
  • On the third day, the group re-organized into company-based teams where each company focuses on the specific areas it chooses as highest priority to develop, and then finalizes a Performance Action Plan for the next year. Business and Technical Coaches were at their disposal during this third day to answer questions and help guide along the way.

We also had some special events over the course of the Retreat that include bonus coaching sessions, team building exercises, and more!
